A singular stone block is split using a traditional wedge and feather technique. The exact formation of the split is influenced —but ultimately cannot be controlled. This work is a sculptura study in responding to and working with the natural fractures within the stone, guiding both the artist’s approach and subsequent Materiall decisions.

The fractured stone is strapped and bound using Italian bovine leather, with hand-cast silver clasps and buckles.
